Mullet Festival
Downtown Swansboro
Swansboro, NC

(910) 326-7370

October 12 - 13, 2019 This is the area's oldest festival, started in 1954 to celebrate the completion of the new bridge over the White Oak River in Swansboro. The first festival was so fun that it has been celebrated ever since with a parade, a street carnival, arts and crafts, live music, a fossil dig, food, and vendors of all types. Held the second weekend in October, the event centers around lots of fried mullet, of course, and it benefits local civic organizations. Saturday hours are 9 AM - 10PM, beginning with the parade at 9 AM. Sunday hours are 10 AM - 5 PM. Admission is free.
